Anti-ISIL cartoon winners announced

TEHRAN, Jun. 01 (MNA) – ISIL International Cartoon and Caricature Contest, inviting submissions from around the world which mock the militant group and the atrocities it has committed, wrapped up on May 31.

On Sunday, a team of cartoon and caricature experts judged more than 1,000 works submitted to Iran’s House of Cartoon, the organizer of the event.

Hosting more than 50 Iranian and foreign cartoonists, the event aimed at promoting the culture of resistance and creating a field of interaction and dialogue between artists in Iran and other countries.

About 270 works were selected from the submissions, including artists from over 40 countries such as Brazil, Australia and Latin America.

Cartoon Section:
1.    Alireza Pakdel, Iran
2.    Bahram Arjmandnia, Iran
3.    Esmat Amjadipour, Iran

Caricature Section:
1.    Read Haich, Germany
2.    Alireza Pakdel, Iran
3.    Sharma Parkasi, India

The prizes include 1,500 dollars for the first winner, 1,000 dollars for the second and 700 dollars for the third person accepted at the contest.
